Working with Odessa Arts, Dyson & Womack served as the public art consultants and project managers to commission The Bright Star Memorial at UTPB honors the victims of the August 31, 2019 tragedy.

Our team commissioned the artist, James Sanborn, facilitated engagement with the victims and their families, reviewed and approved fabrication of the artwork, oversaw installation and landscaping plans for the broader integration of the artwork into the University park.

This outdoor plaza symbolizes remembrance, unity, and hope for the community. It serves as a space for reflection and growth, with names of the victims etched in the pillar that illuminates at night.
